Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for twelve years in American and European sherry oak casks.
The two oak types give the Double Cask name its meaning: hand-selected casks from both sides of the Atlantic are blended together.
On the nose it offers honey, vanilla and fresh fruit with spice and light oak. The palate is rich and balanced, with honey, citrus peel, raisin and ginger, followed by leather and cocoa. The finish is medium to long, warm and spicy, with dried fruit and oak.
