A 15-year-old single malt from Macallan, part of the Colour Collection. It matured entirely in sherry casks made from European and American oak, all seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez in Spain. Its colour comes from the wood alone, with nothing added.
In the glass it is warm amber with golden highlights. The nose has dried fruit, figs and raisins, with honey, orange peel, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate opens with creamy vanilla and honey, then orange, peach and apricot, dark chocolate, dates and roasted nuts, with clove and ginger. The finish is long, with honey, oak and gentle spice.
