Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. This is the old version of the label.
The whisky spent fifteen years in American oak and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez. The American oak is described as adding vanilla sweetness, and the European oak spice and dried fruit.
On the nose there are dried fruits, butterscotch and caramelised ginger, with vanilla and a little oak spice. The palate brings honey, dried fruit and cinnamon, and the finish is long and sweet, with oak spice and a hint of chocolate.
