This is a Macallan single malt, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 by Signatory Vintage in its Exceptional Cask 100 Proof series. Cask 17 gave a bottling at 57.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 18 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts and was bottled undiluted, at cask strength and without chill filtration.
The nose offers raisins, prunes and dates with honey, dark chocolate, orange peel, oak spice and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and rounded, with sherry sweetness, dark berries, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, figs, bittersweet chocolate and a touch of tobacco. The finish is long and warm, with an elegant dryness from the Oloroso, nuts, dark fruit and gentle oak tannins.
