Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt, here in its 2021 edition, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 18 years in a combination of American oak and European oak sherry-seasoned casks, each wood adding its own character. The sherry-seasoned casks are made in Spain.
The nose offers dried fruits, ginger, toffee and vanilla, with oak and delicate florals. The palate is warming, with oak spice, raisins, caramel, vanilla and citrus, balanced by honey and chocolate. The finish is long, with oak spice, dried fruit and sweet orange.
