Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask in its 2025 edition is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spends 18 years maturing in a combination of American oak sherry casks and European oak sherry casks. The Double Cask approach pairs the vanilla sweetness of the American oak with the richer, fruitier character of the European oak.
The nose offers rich honey, raisins, figs, vanilla, subtle spice and orange peel. On the palate there is sherry sweetness, dark chocolate, candied nuts, cinnamon and a delicate smokiness. The finish is long and warming, with spice, dried fruit and a balance of sweetness and oak.
