Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak, in its 2022 Edition, is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of 18 years in European and American oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit comes from Macallan's small copper pot stills, using barley grown mainly on the Easter Elchies estate and by local Speyside farmers.
The nose offers dried fruits, ginger, toffee and nutmeg, with clove, orange and a little wood smoke. On the palate, sultanas, dates and figs are balanced by chocolate, spice and subtle oak. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, spice, oak and a gentle hint of smoke.
