This is the 2019 edition of Macallan 18 Year Old Triple Cask, a Speyside single malt at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured for 18 years in three types of cask: European oak sherry seasoned, American oak sherry seasoned and American ex-bourbon. It was distilled in Macallan's small copper pot stills.
The nose is of dried fruit, ginger, toffee, orange and vanilla, with cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is silky, with dried fruit, citrus, caramel, vanilla and gentle oak spice, plus hints of chocolate and clove. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spice, dried fruit and a little sweet citrus.
