The Macallan 18 Years Old Sherry Cask is a Speyside single malt distilled in 1996 and matured for eighteen years exclusively in sherry-seasoned European oak casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
Sherry wood shapes the character of this whisky, from the dried fruit on the nose to the spicy warmth in the finish.
The nose brings figs, dates, dark chocolate, ginger and a hint of polished oak. The palate has sweet raisins, orange zest, cinnamon and nutmeg, with a subtle nuttiness, and the finish is long, with lingering dried fruit.
