Macallan 25 Year Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt, here in its 2024 edition, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is an official bottling from the distillery.
The whisky spent all 25 years maturing in sherry casks of European oak from Jerez, in Spain. The spirit comes from Macallan's small copper stills, and the casks are chosen according to the distillery's own selection principles.
The nose offers dried fruit, raisins, dark chocolate and Christmas spices, with leather and tobacco beneath. On the palate there are concentrated sherry notes, candied orange, walnut and dark fruit, with warm spices and a silky texture. The long finish carries dark chocolate, espresso and a hint of incense.
