This is The Macallan A Night on Earth in Scotland, a limited-edition single malt from the 2022 release. It celebrates Scottish Hogmanay and the turn from one year to the next, and comes in a 70cl bottle at 43%.
The whisky was matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon barrels and European oak sherry-seasoned casks.
The nose brings vanilla, butter shortbread, baked apple and baking spices, with dried citrus and ginger. The palate is rich and sweet, with shortbread, vanilla, ginger and dried fruit, along with cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is medium to long, with lingering sweetness and warm oak spice.
