This is Macallan A Night on Earth The Journey, the 2023 release in the distillery's limited edition A Night on Earth series. It is a Speyside single malt at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in European and American oak casks, many of them previously seasoned with sherry, and distilled in Macallan's small copper pot stills.
The nose offers warm spices, vanilla and dried fruit, with orange zest and cinnamon. The palate is rich, with chocolate, ginger, dried fruit and toasted oak, over gentle caramel sweetness and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, dried fruit and a hint of sherry sweetness.
