Macallan Classic Cut 2023 is the annual Classic Cut release from the Speyside distillery, a single malt bottled at 50.3% ABV without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in a selection of European and American oak casks that had previously held sherry. The spirit comes from Macallan's small copper pot stills, made from Scottish malted barley.
The nose brings vanilla, orange zest and ginger with honey, dried fruits and gentle oak spice. The palate is full-bodied, with sweet vanilla, candied citrus peel and warming ginger, plus dried fruits, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, dried fruit sweetness and a hint of chocolate.
