Macallan Classic Cut 2024 is the latest in the annual Classic Cut series, a Speyside single malt bottled at 52.4% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was aged in European and American oak casks previously seasoned with sherry, together with some bourbon casks. Macallan distils in small copper pot stills, among the smallest in Speyside.
The nose brings dried fruits, vanilla and orange zest, with sweet toffee, cinnamon and ginger. The palate is full-bodied, with warming spices, vanilla from the oak, honey and dried fruits, plus nutmeg and citrus. The finish is long, with warmth, sweet oak and lingering spice that fades to dark chocolate.
