Macallan-Glenlivet – 30 Year Old 1963 Cadenhead (70cl, 52.6%)

This is a 30 year old Highland single malt from Macallan-Glenlivet, distilled in February 1963 and bottled at cask strength in June 1993 for Wm. Cadenhead's Authentic Collection. It is bottled at 52.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is an unsherried Macallan, and the colour is very pale, like a white wine. The nose brings cold coffee, field flowers, freshly cut apple and gooseberry, with hints of liquorice and a grassy note. The palate is malty and yeasty, like fresh bread crumb, then grassy with rhubarb, plenty of liquorice stick and wood.
