Macallan Rare Cask is a Speyside single malt, here the 2022 release, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It is vatted from hand-selected European and American oak casks, both first-fill and refill, all previously seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez.
The nose opens with vanilla and raisin, then apple, lemon and orange, over a base of ginger, nutmeg and oak. The palate begins with vanilla and moves into dried fruits and spice, with chocolate, a little citrus and light oak. The finish is long, warm and dry, with oak and fruit leading to a spicy close.
