Macallan Rare Cask – 2024 Release (70cl, 43%)

The Macallan Rare Cask 2024 Release is a Speyside single malt at 43%, in a 70cl bottle. It is drawn from casks chosen by the distillery's Whisky Mastery Team, who select less than 1% of the casks maturing at Macallan. Maturation took place in first-fill and refill sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, in both European and American oak. The nose combines vanilla and chocolate with dried fruits, ginger and polished oak, along with floral notes and citrus zest. The palate is velvety, with dried fruits, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, dark chocolate and sweet orange. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, dried fruit and a trace of chocolate.
