This Secret Speyside is a Macallan single malt, distilled in 2011 and bottled by Signatory Vintage as a small batch. It spent 12 years in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez and is bottled at 48.2% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich with dried fruit, Christmas cake, orange zest and honey, with polished oak and warm spice. The palate has a velvety texture, with dark chocolate, raisins, figs and cinnamon, plus nutmeg, clove and toasted oak. The finish is long and warming, with sherry influence, dried fruit sweetness, gentle oak spice and a note of leather.
