Macallan Inspired by Intense Arabica is the second release in The Harmony Collection, a 2022 edition made in collaboration with coffee experts. It is matured in European and American oak casks seasoned with sherry and bottled at 44% in a 70cl bottle.
The Macallan distillery in Speyside uses copper pot stills that are among the smallest in the region.
The nose is of espresso, tiramisu, cappuccino, gianduia chocolate and hazelnut, with sweet cinnamon and a little ginger. The palate is sweet and velvety, with fresh coffee beans, dark chocolate, raisin and vanilla custard, plus oak spice and nutmeg. The finish is long, with coffee, chocolate and sweet oak.
