This is a 12-year-old Macduff single malt, distilled in 2007 and finished in red wine casks. Hunter Laing bottled it in 2020 at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtering.
Macduff is a Highland distillery on the banks of the Deveron. Its own bottlings are sold as Glen Deveron, so the Macduff name appears on independent releases like this one.
The nose is berry, floral and herbal, with vanilla, redcurrant, sweet wine gums and sage. The palate brings sage and fennel seed, chamomile, sweet grape, white chocolate, peach and marzipan, with a hint of rose petal.
