This is a ten year old blended malt from MacNair's, a brand of The GlenAllachie Distillers Company, with Billy Walker as master blender. Batch 2 combines peated and unpeated single malts from Islay and Speyside, including GlenAllachie. The blend then matures further in sherry, red wine and virgin oak casks. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colouring. The colour is dark mahogany. The name Lum Reek comes from a Scottish toast wishing that the chimney may smoke for a long time. The nose offers grilled honeycomb, ginger and vanilla, with cinnamon, campfire smoke and dark sugar syrup. On the palate come dark chocolate, burnt orange peel and honeycomb, then smoky spice, butterscotch and roasted coffee beans. The finish is long, with bittersweet herbs, red wine tannins, ginger and dark smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
