MacNair's Lum Reek 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2 is a blended malt created by Billy Walker from Speyside and Islay single malts together with whisky from The GlenAllachie distillery. It was bottled in 2023 at 55.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
After blending, the whisky spent further time in Spanish sherry casks, wine casks and virgin oak. The aim is a balance between Islay peat smoke and the fruity, honeyed character of Speyside.
The nose has toasted honeycomb, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, bonfire smoke and molasses. The palate brings dark chocolate, burnt orange peel and roasted coffee beans, and the finish is long, warm and spiced, with coffee, chocolate and sweet smoke.
