Manly Spirits Coastal Stone Elements Series Port Cask Strength (50cl, 58%)

This is an Australian single malt from Manly Spirits, part of the Elements Series, bottled at a cask strength of 58% in a 50cl bottle. It was matured in first-fill 100 litre port casks. These began as full-size French and American oak ex-port casks from the Seppeltsfield winery, which a Tasmanian cooperage reworked into shaved and charred smaller casks. The whisky is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The nose is a mix of fruit and sweet vanilla. The palate offers sweet plums, baked dark berry pie, soft caramel and butter, then red currant. The finish starts spicy and crisp and runs long and bittersweet.
