This is a rye-style whisky from Mars, made by blending Iwai distillate from the Komagatake distillery with rye from Kentucky, in a 95/5 mashbill. It is the counterpart to Iwai 45, Mars's bourbon-inspired bottling.
The rye character goes beyond the grain's usual spice, adding a chocolatey depth. Its strength gives it structure for use in cocktails, and it is also intended for sipping.
