McIslay American Oak Casks is an Islay blended malt from House of McCallum, who are known for art-inspired whisky releases. It brings together several Islay malts, all matured in American oak casks.
Maritime smoke sits alongside sweet vanilla, toasted oak and subtle fruit, with Islay peat running through it.
The nose is coastal peat smoke with vanilla, citrus peel and sea spray. The palate adds charred vanilla, toasted coconut and lemon zest, and is lightly oily. The medium-long finish keeps smoke, vanilla sweetness and oak spice.
