Meikle Toir The Chinquapin is a 5 year old peated Speyside single malt, bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barley is kilned with mainland peat from St. Fergus and the whisky measures 35 PPM, which gives a sweeter style of smoke.
Fermentation runs for 160 hours, and the spirit is aged in virgin oak casks.
The nose brings smouldering oak embers, burnt liquorice and honey, with ginger, butterscotch and orange peel. On the palate there are cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, alongside cinnamon, aniseed and campfire smoke.
