Meikle Toir The Chinquapin One Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 48%)

The Chinquapin One is a peated single malt from Meikle Toir, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle with Billy Walker's signature on the label. The barley is kilned with mainland peat from St. Fergus, giving 35 PPM and a sweeter style of smoke. A long fermentation of 160 hours produces a complex spirit, which is aged in virgin oak casks. The nose offers smouldering oak embers, burnt liquorice and honey, with ginger, butterscotch and orange peel. On the palate come cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, with cinnamon, aniseed and campfire smoke.
