Meikle Toir The Chinquapin One Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 48%)

The Chinquapin One is a Speyside single malt from Meikle Toir, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle and signed on the bottle by Billy Walker. It is a peated malt, measuring 35 PPM. The barley was kilned with mainland peat from St. Fergus, which gives a sweeter style of smoke. Fermentation ran for a long 160 hours, and the spirit was aged in virgin oak casks. The nose brings smouldering oak embers, burnt liquorice and honey, with ginger, butterscotch and orange peel. On the palate come cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, along with cinnamon, aniseed and campfire smoke.
