Melrose Malt Benrinnes 12 Year Old Sauternes Cask (70cl, 52.5%)

This is a small batch 12 year old Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, bottled by Melrose Malt under the Cram Drams name. It is bottled at 52.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a Sauternes wine cask, a long time in that type of cask, and is a limited release. Cram Drams began as a project between two friends who share a love of whisky and the history of the Scottish Borders. The nose offers orchard fruits, honeyed vanilla and floral spice. The palate brings ripe apricot, white chocolate and a hint of toasted oak, followed by a silky, lingering finish.
