Michel Couvreur Overaged Malt Whisky – Magnum (1.5L, 43%)

This is the Overaged malt whisky from Michel Couvreur, in a 1.5 litre magnum bottled at 43% ABV. The spirit comes from Scotland and matures in the rock cellars of Burgundy, in Sherry Oak casks. Couvreur was a Belgian who settled in Burgundy and put cask maturation at the centre of his whisky. Sherry casks bring fruit, spice and wood to the house style, and here malt, dark fruit and a little smoke sit together. The nose is typically described as fine smoke, salty bacon and a faint maritime note, with leather and dark fruit.
