This is a malt whisky from Michel Couvreur, bottled at a natural strength of 52% ABV in a 1.5 litre magnum. The spirit is Scottish, but it matures in the rock cellars of Bouze-lès-Beaune in Burgundy, in sherry oak casks. Because that ageing takes place in France, it cannot be sold as Scotch whisky. Michel Couvreur was a Belgian wine and spirits merchant who made Burgundy his base and put the cask at the centre of his whisky. It is described with ripe dried fruit, raisins and nuts, with spicy oak, leather and a light touch of smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
