Michter's Original Sour Mash is an American whiskey bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour.
Its mash bill is unusual enough that it is classed as neither a bourbon nor a rye. Sour mash refers to the way fermentation is started, by adding mash that has already been distilled.
On the palate it is sweetish and spicy with a slight sharpness, built around honey, vanilla, candied cherries and a little smoke.
