Michter's Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye is bottled at 42.4% in a 70cl bottle. Each bottling comes from a single barrel aged in Michter's own Kentucky rickhouse, and the producer is a small one with a following among bartenders and whiskey enthusiasts. The rye is caramel in colour and is described as light and softly peppered, which also makes it a good choice for craft cocktails. The nose combines spice, fruit and vanilla. The palate is rich with rye, along with a little citrus, candy, vanilla and oak, and the finish brings candy corn, butterscotch and vanilla.
