Michter's US 1 Toasted Barrel Finish is a limited release Kentucky sour mash whiskey. It starts as Michter's US 1 Sour Mash Whiskey, which is then aged for an additional period in a second custom-made barrel.
That second barrel is assembled from wood air-dried for 18 months, then toasted but not charred. Several levels of toast were tried before the production team settled on the one they felt best showed the whiskey's nuances. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
