Miltonduff – 2011 12 Year Old Sherry Octave Duncan Taylor (55.3%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Miltonduff, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 at 12 years old and 55.3% ABV. Duncan Taylor released it as part of its Octave series, in an edition of 93 bottles. The whisky first matured in bourbon casks, then spent six months in a small ex-sherry octave of about 60 litres. The nose is described as fresh fruit, lightly toasted oak, citrus peel, roasted malt, vanilla and nutmeg. The palate brings sweet peaches, flower honey, baking spices and vanilla biscuit, with a light apricot and toasted wood finish.
