Cody Road Bourbon is a small-batch wheated bourbon made by Mississippi River Distilling Company in Le Claire, Iowa. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The mashbill is 70% corn, 20% wheat and 10% unmalted barley, with all the grain grown within about an hour of the still. It is aged in newly charred 30-gallon oak barrels, roughly half the usual size.
The nose offers sweet corn, vanilla and a gentle citrus lift. On the palate come vanilla, caramel and mellow fruit with a sugar-cookie note. The finish is moderate, grassy and nutty, with a faint shortbread sweetness and a dry, clean close.
