Mortlach 16 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery's official range, bottled at 43.4% in a 70cl bottle. It was announced in 2018 as one of three new Mortlach expressions and is matured in sherry casks, whose rich sweetness is paired with the intense spirit the distillery is known for.
The nose is bold and complex, with stewed dark orchard fruit, earthiness and spice. The palate is robust and full-bodied, with light leathery spice, apricot and honey. The finish is long, with a surprising sweetening at the end.
