A 20 year old single malt from Mortlach, matured exclusively in sherry casks and bottled at 43.4% in a 70cl bottle. It was one of three Mortlach single malts unveiled in mid-2018.
The nose is dense and elegant, with dried fruit, cedar wood, leather and tobacco. The palate is robust and rich, with an oily coating, aromatic citrus and wood spice that opens into a dark, meaty note of barbecue pork crackling. Berries, jam and cocoa nibs add brightness.
The finish is deep and complex, with gingerbread, raisin and a hint of liquorice.
