Mortlach – 2022 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 57.8%)

This is the 2022 Special Release from Mortlach, a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 57.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Mortlach is traditionally associated with sherry-matured whisky, but this release departs from that. It is made from whisky finished in a combination of red muscat wine and tawny port casks, with a small part finished in virgin oak. The result is described as layering red fruit and soft spice, taking the distillery's rich character in a new direction.
