Mortlach – 7 Year Old 2014 Very Cloudy Signatory Vintage (70cl, 40%)

This is a 7 year old Mortlach from 2014, bottled by Signatory Vintage in its Very Cloudy range at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was aged exclusively in ex-bourbon casks, which give notes of sweet spices. Very Cloudy whiskies are bottled from small batches of two to five barrels. This one was reduced to 40% without chill filtration or colouring, which gives a slightly cloudy appearance. The profile is rich and fruity, with cooked apple, vanilla and almonds.
