Mossburn Vintage Casks No 42 MacDuff 2008 (70cl, 58.9%)

Mossburn Vintage Casks No 42 is a 16-year-old Highland single malt from Macduff, from the 2008 vintage. It is part of the Vintage Casks range, which draws on small, select batches of casks. The whisky was finished in ex-Banyuls casks, which held a sweet red wine from Roussillon, France. Only 234 bottles were produced, at a batch strength of 58.9%, with no colouring and no chill filtration. The distillery stands in the seaside town of Macduff, on the River Deveron beside the Moray Firth. The whisky is described as rich, textured and subtly indulgent.
