This is a 12 year old Craigellachie from 2008, bottled in 2021 at 50% ABV as part of Murray McDavid's Benchmark range. It is a Speyside single malt.
It was matured in a sherry hogshead and then given a long finish in first fill Murca Tawny Port casks, which shaped its flavour.
The nose is malty, floral and sweet, with nutty notes. The palate has lush winter fruit, toffee and nuts. The finish carries hints of chocolate, sweet oak and spice.
