A nine year old single malt from Benriach, bottled by Murray McDavid as a Benchmark release. It was distilled in 2014 at the Speyside distillery near Elgin, which was founded in 1898 by John Duff. After maturing in bourbon hogsheads, the spirit spent its final three years in first-fill barriques that had held Tokaji, the sweet wine of Hungary's Tokaj region. It was bottled in spring 2024 at a natural cask strength of 53.2% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The outturn is 1,338 bottles. The Tokaji casks are described as adding a lush mouthfeel and further depth to the fruit-forward spirit.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
