This is a 50 year old Caperdonich single malt, bottled by Murray McDavid. It was distilled in 1972 and filled into an American oak hogshead, where it matured. The nose offers fresh peaches, apricot cream, barley sugar and vanilla pods, followed by pineapple cubes, sweet ginger and pine. The palate is intensely tropical, and with a little time in the glass it opens to honeyed cereal and buttery pastry. The finish is fruity, waxy and long.
