Murray McDavid Glen Garioch 11 Years Old Tokaji Wine Benchmark (46%)

A single malt from Glen Garioch, the Highland distillery in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, bottled by Murray McDavid as a Benchmark release. It was distilled in 2010 and is 11 years old. The spirit spent over nine years in bourbon hogsheads, then its final 18 months in casks that previously held Tokaji, the sweet wine of Hungary's Tokaj region. It was bottled in 2022 at 46% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The bourbon casks give a soft, sweet base, while the Tokaji adds sweet, fruity richness to the distillery's spicy Highland character. 1,559 bottles were filled.
