Murray McDavid Mission Gold Loch Lomond 28 Year Old (70cl, 51.2%)

Murray McDavid Mission Gold is a 28 year old single grain whisky from Loch Lomond, distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2025 at a cask strength of 51.2%. Loch Lomond makes its grain whisky from malted barley rather than wheat or corn. This one was matured in bourbon barrels and finished for its last five years in first-fill Sauternes casks. It is non-chill filtered, of natural colour, and was bottled in an edition of 686 bottles. On the nose it is floral honey, glazed peach and citrus. The palate brings candied lemon, a creamy texture and tropical fruit, and the finish is ginger, vanilla cream and sweet spices.
