This is a lightly peated Japanese single malt from the Nagahama distillery, bottled from a single Mizunara hogshead, number 1060. It was distilled in August 2020 and bottled in 2023 at 57.8% ABV, in a 50cl bottle.
The whisky spent its three years entirely in Japanese oak rather than just a short finish. The cask gave 409 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose combines freshly brewed tea and baked bread with oak, a herbal note and light smoke. On the palate the mild peat gives way to malt, with clear oak, pepper and gentle spice over a creamy texture. The medium finish carries light smoke, wood, spice and a hint of incense.
