Nelson Brothers Reserve Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 53.9%)

Nelson Brothers Reserve is a high-rye bourbon from Nelson's Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee, bottled at 53.9% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys batched from the distillery's best-aged barrels. Brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson revived their family's pre-Prohibition distilling legacy with this line, after their ancestor Charles Nelson founded the distillery in 1860. The mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley leans towards rye. Tasting notes run to cherry, maple syrup, sweet mint and cinnamon roll on the nose, and caramel, allspice, cherry and hazelnut on the palate. The finish is earthy, with cocoa, allspice and cherry cobbler.
