Belle Meade 9 Year Old is a small batch bourbon from Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, finished in Oloroso sherry casks after nine years of ageing. It is bottled at 90.4 proof, 45.2% ABV.
The sherry finish adds dried fruit, a gentle sweetness and warm spice to the bourbon.
The nose offers dried cherries, dark caramel, toasted oak, cocoa and baking spice. On the palate come rich vanilla, dark fruit, honeyed caramel and roasted nuts. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spice and dried fruit.
