Nelson's Green Brier is a wheated sour mash Tennessee whiskey, bottled at 45.5% in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is corn, wheat and malted barley. It is filtered through sugar maple charcoal by the Lincoln County Process and aged for two to five years in new charred oak.
The brand revives Charles Nelson's Nashville distillery of the 1860s, brought back by his great-great-great grandsons. It won a Gold Medal at the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Caramel, vanilla, cinnamon and baked apple show on the nose. The palate offers brown sugar, cinnamon roll and caramel-dipped apple with cocoa, and the long, warm finish brings Gala apple, black cherry and spice.
